5 issues with communicaion online vs. face to face

For this assingnment we had to talk to people online and get feedback as to how it was different communicating with strangers vs people face to face. Here are the five issues I came up with:

5 issues related to communicating electronically in a classroom versus face to face is:
1.) You have no idea who u are talking to!! It could be anyone even someone dangerous, so I had to be careful of what I said not telling the strangers too much about myself.
2.) You don’t know if they are telling the truth since they are complete strangers
3.) It’s a lot less personal therefore you can say something and they will never know if its true or not.
4.) You can either be more yourself or completely change your identity
5.) Face to face you know the person physically rather in the internet you have no idea what they look like.
In the end I wasn't really able to connect with anyone because I had no idea who I was talking to but it was nice to talk to other people from other countries.

Chapter 5

Chapter Five talked about the sense of community.Does it really seperate us or make us closer?
According to the author, it is making society is more dependant than ever on technology. Technology should be used as a second means of communication for example to communicate with family members around the world, and not as a way of life. It is making personal relationships less personal therefore technology is alienating us. Chapter Five in a nutshell explains the authors concerns about technology and how we are becoming a technology obessesed society.
